The northwest corner of Alabama has a low risk of experiencing a severe storm or two today. However, forecasters think storms will most likely stay northwest of the state. There will be a better chance for severe weather this weekend, and it will include most of Alabama. Storm Prediction Center
The rest of the central Alabama and all of south Alabama have no severe weather risk and may not get any rain at all today and tonight, according to the weather service. It will also be windy today, and wind advisories have been issued for a large part of the state (the counties in brown below):
