Cook County Judge James Obbish said the prosecution provided a “mountain of evidence" showing that Griffin used more than $10,000 in village funds between 2015 and 2017 for “his own personal and economic benefit.

A Cook County judge found Charles Griffin guilty Monday of one count of theft of government property and two counts of official misconduct.

A Cook County judge said Griffin is guilty of embezzling public funds “to benefit himself, his family and his friends.”
