Millions are being raised so far for Califorina wildfire victims. But some of those fundraising efforts could actually end up limiting the money is that is available through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Since the outbreak of the fires last week, many applicants for federal assistance have reported receiving denial letters from FEMA. Although such letters may seem to indicate that a person is ineligible to receive financial help from the federal agency, applicants may still be able to receive relief aid.

Recovery representatives said people just need to bring any paperwork related to their damages to the center to get started.
