The Gen Z uprising against police brutality in Kenya has already resulted in numerous fatalities. As protests erupted across the country on Wednesday, police responded to the marches with teargas and live fire.

The latest demonstrations coincided with the one-year anniversary of the deadly series of protests in 2024 by Gen Z youth.

At least twelve people were killed and more than 400 others wounded on Wednesday as Gen Z-led protests marking the first anniversary of the 2024 anti-Finance Bill demonstrations spiralled into nationwide violence.
