The Red Sox have activated right-handed starting pitcher Lucas Giolito from the 15-day injured list. They placed a reliever on the bereavement list.

The Red Sox announced that they have activated Giolito from the 15-day injured list and that the right-hander will make his first start of the season on Wednesday night against the Toronto Blue Jays. To clear space on the active roster, the Red Sox also placed left-hander Brennan Bernardino on the bereavement list.

The Sox signed the righthander after the 2023 season, but he suffered an elbow injury in spring training that required season-ending surgery, then had his 2025 debut delayed by a hamstring strain, opening the season on the injured list.
