BEREA, Ohio — Browns starting cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. spoke before practice of doing a lot of soul-searching in the offseason to get back to his elite level of play. By the afternoon, he was being carted off the practice field in tears on Day 6 of Browns training camp with what appeared to be a serious lower left leg injury.

The Browns suffered a massive loss when Martin Emerson Jr. went down Tuesday. He broke his silence on the ailment after going on IR.

Browns coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed on July 30 that cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. will have surgery on the Achilles tendon he tore on July 29.
