Oliver Glasner revealed his decision to bring Jean-Philippe Mateta off at half-time of Crystal Palace ’s defeat to Manchester City was not down to injury. The Eagles made a flying start at the Etihad Stadium and were two goals up after 20 minutes, as Eberechi Eze opened the scoring and Chris Richards then headed in from a corner.

Oliver Glasner has criticised Jean-Philippe Mateta for his performance in Crystal Palace ’s 5-2 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday. Palace raced into a two-goal lead at the Etihad Stadium with Eberechi Eze and Chris Richards finding the net after 21 minutes.

"The last time we conceded five was against Arsenal before Christmas and then we had a great run. We will analyse this again and then train. In four days we have the chance to do it better against Newcastle and this is what we'll go for."
