Peres Jepchirchir and Alexander Mutiso Munyao will defend their TCS London Marathon titles on Sunday 27 April, organisers of the World Athletics Platinum Label road race have confirmed.

Event organizers announced today that women's marathon world record holder Ruth Chepngetich will race the 2025 TCS London Marathon on April 27. Chepngetich, who clocked the fastest women's marathon ever of 2:09:56 at the 2024 Chicago Marathon, stands as the only woman to have ever gone under 2:10 at the distance.

Women's world record holder Ruth Chepngetich is set to race in the London Marathon on 27 April. The Kenyan, 30, ran the fastest time in history by a female athlete at the Chicago Marathon in October, clocking two hours, nine minutes and 57 seconds.

Ethiopia’s 2023 Osaka Marathon champion Haven Hailu, Ugandan record-holder Stella Chesang and world bronze medallist Fatima Ezzahra Gardadi are also in the line-up, while Commonwealth 10,000m champion Eilish McColgan is set to make her marathon debut.

Kenyan clocked 2:09:56 in Chicago last year and will now take on Sifan Hassan and Peres Jepchirchir in the British capital on April 27
