The Indiana Fever suffered their second straight loss on Friday as they fell to the Washington Mystics in a tight one, 88-84. This defeat follows Tuesday’s 81-80 loss against the Dallas Wings, as Indiana has now lost two in a row at home in the span of four days.

Darcy Connolly-Brunner, 61, was struck when Rolando Ico-Choc, a 30-year-old Guatemalan national, crossed over into the wrong lane in Freeport on Saturday afternoon, the Stephenson County Sheriff’s office said. The migrant, who had a hefty rap sheet including multiple prior DUIs, was also killed in the wreck, according to officials.

Brunner, the mother of former WNBA and Arizona State University basketball player Sophie Brunner was killed in a head-on collision in Orangeville, Ill. She was 61.
