Thailand's embattled Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra said her coalition remained strong and a cabinet reshuffle had been settled, days after its second-largest coalition partner quit over a deepening border dispute with Cambodia.

Thailand's military has closed border crossings into Cambodia to almost all travellers, including tourists and traders, citing security concerns as tensions between the two Southeast Asian neighbours

The reescalation of conflict was sparked on May 28, when a Cambodian soldier was killed in an early morning clash between both nations’ troops, in an area called the Emerald Triangle—the shared border between Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos. The area remains disputed as both Thailand and Cambodia lay claims to parts of the region.
