The family of Illinois State Police Trooper Clay Carns has announced visitation and funeral plans after he was hit and killed by a pickup truck on I-55 Monday. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 1 p.

"Any time we lose a trooper hurts, but today is Christmas Eve here on December 24, so it kind of hurts in a particular way," ISP Dir. Brendan Kelly said.

Gov. JB Pritzker has ordered flags across Illinois to be flown at half-staff for the next week in honor of Illinois State Police Trooper Clay Carns, who was struck and killed while picking up debris on Interstate 55 two days before Christmas.
