Google has made a major leap in quantum computing. The tech giant has developed a new algorithm, "Quantum Echoes," on its "Willow" quantum computing chip, which performs significantly faster than traditional supercomputers.

Designed to accelerate advances in medicine and other fields, the tech giant’s quantum algorithm runs 13,000 times as fast as software written for a traditional supercomputer.

In a preprint paper, posted online in June, the Google team reported the most in-depth measurement of information scrambling to date, which was achieved with their 105-qubit Willow chip.
