A Boston City Council order is calling for a hearing to talk about making city streets safer, now that the mayor’s monthslong safety review is complete.

A Boston community will gather to mourn and support the family of a 5-year-old boy who died on Monday after he was struck by a school bus.

A child heading home from school was struck and killed by a school bus in Hyde Park Monday afternoon, according to Boston Police and devastated officials who called the incident “incredibly tragic.” Boston police officers responded to a report of a child struck by a school bus at 107 Washington St., at around 2:44 p.m. on Monday.
