Shortly after the New York Giants traded back into the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft to grab Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart at pick No. 25, individuals such as ESPN Giants reporter Jordan Raanan and Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio suggested that head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen made the move in an attempt to remain with the organization beyond the 2025 season.

Dart, the 21-year-old Ole Miss product, is positioned to be the Giants' QB of the future but might not play in 2025.
