(Reuters) -Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma offered no excuses for his side's poor showing in their 3-0 defeat at Norway in the World Cup qualifiers on Friday, saying their form was not acceptable and the fans deserve better.

Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma blasted his team’s performance as the Azzurri suffered a comprehensive defeat to Norway to begin their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign in dismal fashion.

Norway currently leads Group I, putting it in position to qualify directly to the World Cup, though there's a lot of time still left to go. Italy has yet to play a Group I match.
