Bad Company is set to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. Mick Ralphs, co-founder of the influential rock bands Bad Company and Mott the Hoople and soon-to-be inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,

Ralphs was born in Herefordshire, England, on March 31, 1944. He began his music career as a teen with the blues band The Buddies but gained his first big break with Mott the Hoople. Formed in 1969, the band became a commercial success with the 1972 album “All the Young Dudes.” He also wrote the hit “Ready for Love.”

Mick Ralphs co-wrote some of the most iconic hits of the '70s, helped launch two cult bands—and died just months before receiving rock's highest honor.
