Rural hospitals in Arkansas will have to ready themselves for some major changes coming in the next few years that could mean savings for the federal government, but fewer people with health care coverage.

If enacted into law, Hillsdale Hospital CEO Jeremiah J. Hodshire said, the "Big Beautiful Bill" could force the closure of rural hospital birthing centers or even entire hospital systems.

The ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ has passed Congress and awaits President Trump’s signature. The sweeping legislation could reshape Medicaid, the ACA, and rural healthcare access, affecting millions nationwide.
