Republican Rep. Nancy Mace, fresh off an announced bid for South Carolina’s governor’s mansion, jockeyed for an endorsement from President Donald Trump.

"It's obviously going to make the race very fractious, very interesting with the potential to have a lot of unflattering portraits," a pollster told Newsweek.

The congresswoman joins a crowded field to succeed GOP Gov. Henry McMaster, who can't run again because of term limits.
