Parts of New Jersey are getting an abrupt awakening with severe thunderstorms, hail and wind, prompting the National Weather Service to issue severe thunderstorm warnings in the southern half of the state. Thunderstorm warnings were issued around 5 a.m. for for parts of Ocean, and Burlington counties, after pushing through Camden County.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued across New Jersey Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service. One warning was issued for areas including Toms River, Lindenwold and Haddonfield until 6:15 a.

The warning was issued for Westmoreland County. "The storms which prompted the warning have moved out of the area. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire," states the National Weather Service.

The first round of a four-day severe weather cylce slammed into Tennessee Wednesday night into Thursday morning killing at least four people.
