Canada is bracing for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s successor, who will follow the Liberal Party leader who has led U.S.’s neighbor to the north since the Obama administration, The Associated Press reported.

Former central banker Mark Carney is the front-runner, with the most endorsements from party members and the most money raised among the four candidates.

After months of speculation and anti-incumbency, Canada's Liberal Party will announce its new leader today, replacing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who will lead the party in the general elections scheduled later this year.
