JetBrains, the Prague-based creator of code-centric Java IDE IntelliJ IDEA, this week took the wraps off the upcoming version of its flagship development environment.

JetBrains is shipping version 9 of its IntelliJ Idea IDE for Java, this time offering both commercial and open source versions.

The Microsoft Open Technologies group has released an initial preview of a new plugin for JetBrains' IntelliJ IDEA Java IDE and the open-source Android Studio IDE.
