The US government is preparing to send thousands more troops to the US-Mexico border. According to The Washington Post, armored vehicles could also be sent there. According to an unnamed US official,

Mexican soldiers rushed Thursday to set up emergency shelters near the border with the United States ahead of President Donald Trump's threatened mass deportations.

The Pentagon is deploying up to 1,500 active duty troops to help secure the southern border in the coming days. The Department of Defense will also provide military aircraft to assist with deporting detained migrants from San Diego and El Paso.
