Wilyer Abreu made history Monday night at Fenway Park, joining an elite club after hitting both a rare inside-the-park homer and a grand slam in the Boston Red Sox’s 13-6 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

1) Red Sox’ Wilyer Abreu hit an inside-the-park home run to lead off the bottom of the fifth. It marked Boston’s first inside-the-park homer since Eduardo Nuñez hit one March 29, 2018 at Tampa Bay. It was the first inside-the-park homer by a Red Sox hitter at Fenway Park since Jacoby Ellsbury did it Sept. 19, 2011 against the Orioles.

The Red Sox jumped all over the Reds pitching staff on Monday, and Wilyer Abreu led the way with a historic night at the plate.
