The Red Sox have lost Hunter Dobbins from the backend of the rotation, as the right-hander landed on the 15-day Injured List Sunday with a strained pitching elbow.

No one expected much out of Hunter Dobbins back when pitchers and catchers first reported in February. But his 59.1 perfectly cromulent innings this year have been huge for a Red Sox pitching staff that,

The Red Sox put him on the 15-day injured list with a right elbow strain. They brought back righthander Richard Fitts from Triple A Worcester to fill his roster spot and likely his rotation spot. Dobbins was due to pitch again Wednesday against the Angels. Dobbins had been scheduled to pitch for Worcester on Sunday but instead came to California.
