ESPN recently released its 2026 college football recruiting rankings and it rates the Sun Devils high on the list with four-star quarterback Jake Fette from Texas and three-star defensive end Julian Hugo, also from Texas, leading the way for ASU.

Ketel Marte hits a home run to right field in the top of the 1st inning to give the D-backs a 1-0 lead

Marte went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Wednesday's 8-7 win over the Giants. After belting a solo shot off Jordan Hicks in the first inning, Marte tagged Hayden Birdsong for a two-run blast in the fourth as he bookended the scoring for the Diamondbacks.

Jordan Lawlar is back in the big leagues. The Diamondbacks' top prospect and the No. 4 prospect in baseball per MLB Pipeline was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Monday and joined the team in San Francisco for the opener of a three-game set against the Giants.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo got tossed in the 8th inning of the contest after arguing a changed call on the field.

Lawlar finished up the game at second base for Marte, who was removed as a precaution with stiffness in his hip. This was Lawlar's second appearance since his call-up from Triple-A Reno; he served as the starting shortstop Tuesday. Marte is expected to play when the Diamondbacks resume their schedule Friday at home against the Rockies.

The Diamondbacks wrapped up their three-game series with the Giants on Wednesday afternoon with an 8-7 win at Oracle Park to end a stretch of 16 games in 16 days against teams that -- if the season ended today -- would be in the postseason.
