The 2022 Aces won 72.2% of their games and the championship. The 2023 Aces won 85.0% of their games and the championship. Fast-forward to this season, and the 2025 Aces are led by the most dominant player in the league, have their floor-general leader back and healthy, and just might have upgraded the talent in their starting lineup.

The WNBA season begins on Saturday, May 17 for the Aces. The Raiders sent a message to the team before their season opener against the New York Liberty, the defending WNBA champions. "Good luck this season, @LVAces 🩶🖤," the Raiders wrote.

A federal judge last week dismissed Sparks forward Dearica Hamby's lawsuit against the WNBA, but ruled her claim against the Aces can proceed.

Opening weekend of the 2025 WNBA season came equipped with high-powered scoring and hustle. Los Angeles Sparks guard Kelsey Plum erupted for 37 points against the Golden State Valkyries. Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier once again proved why she’s a frontrunner for league MVP with her 34 points against the Dallas Wings.

The Lynx were the rising power in 2024. Starting the season at +5000 (50-to-1 odds to win it all), they rode a 30-win regular season straight to the WNBA Finals — and almost won. The Lynx established themselves as one of the top defensive squads in the league last year, and are bringing back top MVP contender, Napheesa Collier.

A’ja Wilson went into last season trying to prove she was indeed the WNBA’s best player even if MVP voters thought otherwise in 2023.
