Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry (R) has said he pushed for a tiger to appear before LSU’s football game against Alabama, resuming a school tradition.

An LSU student has been arrested after allegedly making an online threat to kill Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry, who advocated for bringing a live tiger onto the field as part of a recent college football game.

LSU previously ended the tradition of bringing a live tiger to the sidelines of games in 2016, when Mike VI died.

LSU had a special guest in attendance for its 42-13 loss to Alabama in Week 11. Louisiana governor Jeff Landry pushed for the inclusion of a live tiger during LSU's pregame festivities, and he got his wish when an ersatz Mike the Tiger took to the sidelines in a cage prior to kickoff.
