Lionel Messi is set for a reunion with former team Paris Saint-Germain after Inter Miami drew 2-2 with Brazilian club Palmeiras to reach the Club World Cup quarterfinals.

Palmeiras came from behind to play Inter Miami to a 2-2 draw in front of an electric crowd at Hard Rock Stadium, and both clubs advanced to the Club World Cup round of 16 on Monday night. A tie was enough to send both teams to the knockout round after they entered Monday's match tied atop the Group A standings with four points apiece.

Inter Miami appeared to be cruising to a victory in the match, which would clinch the group. But Palmerias battled back, scoring twice in the final 10 minutes. Paulinho and Mauricio, two substitutes, scored in the 80th and 87th minute, respectively.
