Jose Eduardo Rojo Rivera has been extradited from Mexico to face charges for a deadly shooting in Sacramento County in 2006.

Jose Eduardo Rojo-Rivera, 37, faces a murder charge and a Friday arraignment in Sacramento Superior Court nearly two decades after the gunshot that killed Gerardo Javier Jimenez-Aguilar, 21, in the driveway of Jimenez’s St. Joseph’s Drive home on June 24, 2006.

Nearly two decades later, a homicide suspect will be extradited to Sacramento County to face charges. The FBI said Jose Eduardo Rojo Rivera is the suspect in a Sacramento homicide from June 2006 where another man was shot to death.

A man arrested by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office after an attempted robbery at a taco stand has been accused of similar crimes at three separate eateries across the capital region, including at Chando’s Tacos in North Sacramento, police said.

A suspect who tried to rob a taco stand at gunpoint in south Sacramento but was taken down by employees was also booked into jail in connection with a robbery at Chando's Tacos last year, police said.

The suspect is accused of four armed robberies at taco stands in Sacramento. A worker was pistol-whipped at one of the locations.

MATHER — Wildlife officials confirmed that the swans found dead at Mather Regional Park in Sacramento County in November were infected with bird flu. This latest announcement comes after a month of people wondering what killed these swans. Since the original grouping of swans was tested, more have died.

About a month after dozens of swans were found dead in Mather Regional Park, testing on the birds found that they were positive for avian flu. Since the nearly 30 birds were found dead on Dec. 3, the park has remained closed.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife confirmed on Wednesday that two mute swans tested positive for the avian influenza at Mather Regional Park. Dozens of swans were reported dead at Mather Lake in Sacramento County back in late November.
