As two other crosstown rivals played a thrilling lacrosse game that went into overtime one night last week, some members of the Westhill High School boys’ varsity lacrosse team were in the stands hatching a plan.

All 11 students in New York turned themselves in to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office on April 30 after being given 48 hours to surrender.

Onondaga County, New York, District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick said the high school lacrosse players he is prosecuting over hazing allegations could have faced a much more serious fate.
