Alphabet's self-driving unit Waymo said on Monday it received approval from California to expand its robotaxi operations in more areas of the San Francisco Peninsula and further south, including San Jose.

Alphabet Inc.’s (GOOG, GOOGL) robotaxi unit Waymo said on Monday that it has received approval to operate its commercial ride-hailing service in South Bay, California and nearly all of San Jose. The company announced the approval from the California Public Utilities Commission in a post on X.

Waymo, Alphabet's (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) self-driving unit, has received approval from the California Public Utilities Commission to expand its robotaxi service in the San Francisco Bay Area, including most of San Jose.
