MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The second Rich Rodriguez era at West Virginia University will start on Saturday August 30th as the Big 12 Conference released the football schedules for all of their teams Tuesday afternoon. The Mountaineers will host Robert Morris on that day and includes six home games with four of them being in conference.

We are still well over seven months until the return of Mountaineer Football. However, that does not mean we cannot start looking ahead to what will be one of the most anticipated seasons in recent memory for the program.

WVU opens its 2025 campaign August 30 with a matchup against Robert Morris of the FCS. The Mountaineers are at Ohio the first Saturday in September and then welcome Pitt for the Backyard Brawl on September 13 to end non-league play. The combined 2024 record of the Mountaineers’ opponents next season was 91-62.
