Previous reports had said that the new MacBook Air will feature a version of the M4 chip, which was introduced in November with the 14-inch MacBook Pro. The current entry-level MacBook Air has 2 fewer graphics cores (8 versus 10) than the higher-end models, so it’s likely Apple will continue this trend.

Apple is preparing to update the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Airs in March, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

It’s not the only clue. Gurman says that Apple’s marketing, sales and retail teams are now being prepared for the M4 MacBook Air release, which is expected to land at some point in March. Gurman's track record is very good, so a launch within the next month does look increasingly likely.
