Millions of people in the central U.S. are at risk of seeing severe weather on Tuesday, and the threat extends to the Chicago area on Wednesday. FOX Weather Storm Specialist Mike Seidel breaks down the forecast on June 17,

Severe storm chances were in the forecast both Tuesday and Wednesday, with hail, heavy downpours, damaging winds and even a brief tornado possible.

A steamy summertime pattern is brewing repeated rounds of severe weather, with tornadoes, destructive winds and large hail for some. Daily bouts of storms have been blasting across the Plains, and there are increasing odds that significant storms might make a run at the Mid-Atlantic and East Coast later this week.

A severe weather system passes through the Chicago area Sunday, bringing rain, high winds and hail to parts of the suburbs. The storms moved out by 5:30 p.m., but they left power outages and some flight delays at O'Hare and Midway.

That appeal of St. Louis brick is raising fears that the tornado could accelerate the long-established trend of St. Louis’ salvaged brick leaving town, often for destinations across the southern U.S., where it can commonly be sliced up and used as cladding.
