Jasmine Paolini beat Coco Gauff 6-4, 6-2 in the Italian Open women’s singles final on Saturday to become the first Italian player to win the tournament in 40 years, before repeating the feat in the doubles final on Sunday.

Jasmine Paolini has taken advantage of the crowd’s support and beaten Coco Gauff 6-4, 6-2 to become the first home player to win the Italian Open in 40 years.

Coco Gauff has just lost back-to-back WTA 1000 finals after being ousted by Jasmine Paolini in the Rome Open final. The Italian tennis star, who was seeded at No. 6 at this year's tournament edition at Foro Italico, registered a 6-4 6-2 win in an hour and a half of play.
