Heat and storms will impact outdoor plans Thursday afternoon and evening. It will be even hotter by early next week.

Once all the rain clears overnight into Thursday, we can look forward to a period of pleasant, clear weather. Friday marks the first day of summer, and temperatures will reflect this, with highs in the mid-80s and mostly sunny skies.

However, before we start focusing on heat later in the week and next week, we have a First Alert Weather Day for Wednesday to get through. This Alert Day is for the possibility of severe storms Wednesday afternoon and early evening, with all forms of severe weather possible.
