The US has presented a plan calling for Hezbollah’s full demilitarization by the end of the year, along with Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon, officials said.

Hezbollah has rejected calls to disarm the Iran-backed group, calling it unrealistic while Israeli strikes continue. This came after the Lebanese cabinet had tasked the army with drafting the plan to bring all weapons under state control.
