New York, as you've probably heard countless times by now, has a clear affinity for Dallas Mavericks head coach (and one-time Knicks point guard) Jason Kidd. And while the Knicks have struggled to gain traction with that pursuit, it remains "something...to continue to monitor," per James L. Edwards III of The Athletic.

Soon after the New York Knicks fired Tom Thibodeau as their head coach in early June, reports surfaced that the team had heavy interest in Dallas Mavericks leader Jason Kidd.Days later, it was reported that the Mavericks were unlikely to grant the Knicks access to interview the Hall-of-Fame point guard.

According to James L. Edwards III of The Athletic, Taylor Jenkins and Mike Brown “appear to be the front-runners” as of now to become the next Knicks coach. However, New York is considering a pursuit of New Orleans Pelicans assistant coach James Borrego.
