The Federal Reserve chair said the two discussed "economic developments" but not his expectations for monetary policy at a White House meeting called by the president.

Fed Chair Jerome Powell and President Trump met Thursday to discuss economic growth, employment and inflation.

Trump has repeatedly gone after Powell as the Fed has declined to immediately cut interest rates as the president requested.
