The New York Rangers have reportedly decided to convey the No. 12 overall pick in the 2025 NHL draft to the Pittsburgh Penguins as part of the trade they made for forward J.T. Miller during the 2024-25 season.

The Canucks then flipped that pick to the Penguins in a trade in which Marcus Pettersson and Drew O'Connor were dealt to Vancouver in exchange for Danton Heinen, Vincent DeSharnais, Melvin Fernstrom and that same conditional first-round pick from the Rangers.

According to multiple reports — and first reported by Larry Brooks of the New York Post — the New York Rangers informed the League on Tuesday that they will send the No. 12 pick in this year’s NHL Draft to the Pittsburgh Penguins to complete the J.T. Miller trade from Jan. 31.
