A brief spin-up tornado touched down in southern Indiana without warning on Wednesday morning. Radar imagery around 10:30 a.m. showed a large thunderstorm with broad rotation over Jackson County.

The weather service says that based on social, broadcast media, and local officials, and radar data, an EFU tornado touched down west of Patriot, Indiana, at around 4:30 p.m.

A brief EF-U tornado struck southern Indiana, causing minor damage. It lasted less than a minute and traveled less than a quarter mile in an open field.
