The Toronto Maple Leafs have taken a 2-0 series lead over the Florida Panthers with a 4-3 win in Game 2. A back-and-forth contest saw the Panthers take early leads of 1-0 and 2-1, but goals from William Nylander and Max Domi in the second period gave the Leafs their first lead of the night.

Combined, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers occupied first place in the Atlantic Division for 174 of 178 game days during the 2024-25 season, so it stands to reason that the two teams would be facing off in the Eastern Conference Second Round.

Mackie Samoskevich moved up to the second line with Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk to begin the third period. Evan Rodrigues as a result has dropped to the fourth line with Nico Sturm and Jesper Boqvist. The Maple Leafs have their first lead of the game, 3-2, with 2:51 left in the second period.
