Elly De La Cruz homered, tripled and drove in three runs as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the New York Yankees 6-1 on Monday night. Gavin Lux also went deep for the Reds, who have won two straight and 11 of 16.

Despite a sparkling 0.90 ERA in Triple-A and a strong start tonight, Winans unraveled and the Yankees repeatedly failed to cash in with runners on base, dropping the series opener, 6-1. Aaron Judge’s first-inning homer was the only offense as the Bombers went 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position.

Winans blanked the Reds on just 24 pitches over the first three innings in his Yankees debut. But the Reds scored three in the fourth.
