The White House and Defense Department are aware of, and closely monitoring, potential threats to the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, a senior White House official confirmed.

Qatar said it successfully intercepted the missiles and no casualties were reported. It wasn't immediately clear if there was damage to the Iraq base.

Today (Monday 23 June), Iran confirmed that they had successfully launched missile attacks on the two countries as state TV announced the attack on American forces at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, in particular. They described it as 'a mighty and successful response by the armed forces of Iran to America’s aggression'.
