ST CLAIR SHORES, Mich. – A dog was killed in a boat explosion in St. Clair Shores over the weekend. It happened at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Emerald City Harbor. Video captured the boat carrying two individuals and a dog exploding seconds after refueling at the gas dock.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office said deputies from the Marine Division were dispatched to the Emerald City Harbor in St. Clair Shores around 12:35 p.m. Saturday to a report of an explosion. Surveillance video shows two people and a dog getting fuel at the gas dock. Seconds after pulling away from the dock, the vessel exploded.
Witnesses helped rescue two people thrown into the water, but their dog did not survive the explosion that also damaged the fuel dock and caused contamination.

The crash occurred on the highway in the densely populated Iztapalapa district in the east of Mexico City. As emergency vehicles sped by and medics attended to the injured, groups of neighbors helped pull victims from the fire and get them to safety.
