A Piper Cherokee Archer crashed at Block Island State Airport, flipping upside down with three passengers, who were hospitalized with no serious injuries. Over 20 New Shoreham responders secured the scene at the tricky single-runway airport.

A private plane crashed at Block Island State Airport on Wednesday. "At approximately 12:29 PM, a Cherokee Archer aircraft was involved in an accident at Block Island State Airport," a spokesman said. "There were three individuals on board at the time."

An "accident" involving a plane on Block Island has injured three people, according to the Rhode Island Airport Corp. The injured were transported to Block Island Medical Center. Emergency responders from multiple agencies were on the scene.
