Just witnessed this brilliant carnival event in Bermeo in the Basque Country. It’s going on around me still but here is a few minutes just to give you a look at the costumes in particular. Very similar to the Winter witch figures you get in Eastern Europe as the brooms as for sweeping away Winter. Love the tall peaked hats - very like our strawboy hats in form.
